The Persistence of the "Homicidal Homosexual"

Murder Most Queer explores how theatrical representations of the "homicidal homosexual" wrestle with -- and in many cases subvert -- the homophobic accusation of queer villainy.  But is the "killer queer" really still prevalent in a culture where the gay rights movement seems to have made so many advances?  The supposedly murderous nature of LGBT people remains a surprisingly persistent right-wing talking point in our public discourse.  Here are just a few recent examples:
